Hi, Aileen. Things here are pretty much growing steadily. I don't think they've solved the brownout problem yet, though. The IT sector is still strongly focused on education. Call centers are still springing up, but not so much outsourcing companies like ours who are focused on web development and marketing. There seems to be the 'invisible' companies, too -- the freelance communities that are unknown locally but known on the Internet.

Hello, Aileen. Not sure if you remember me from Iloilo with Chris Sandberg, but I got invited to join here too. Hope to work with this community in promoting IT in the Philippines.

Greetings,

Lots have been said about Technology and the Internet to the youth and and the community. Many things have been initiated to bridge the digital divide, to bring ICT4E and ICT4D products to improve people.

However, we need to see the on-line community of e-Citizens, that actively define the value proposition of technology and Internet to their developmental goals.

This is the public digital address to demonstrate the empowering of the e-Citizens to lead and show the digital relationship between them and the government, organizations, corporation, and institutions that engaged the use of information and communications technology to deliver and support services to the community.

Inside this digital social network, the e-citizens can communicate and collaborate with others, share content, create new understanding, and lead developmental advocacy through the use of user-centric web 2.0 applications.

We encourage you to realize knowledge formation and sharing through the E-citizen blogs, forum, pictures, and video.

Participate in the e-service provision, and transact on-line using the e-services meant to address sectoral needs on governance, business, rural development, environment and climate change, justice and peace... etc.

Welcome, and we encourage you to e-mail your peers about this public e-Citizen Services Network for transformative community development.

Lastly, write something in community blog about your organization and what it is offering for the development of community.
